      Job Description:

      The Department of Mathematics at Berry College invites applications for a tenure-track assistant/associate professor of mathematics to begin in August 2024. We seek versatile candidates in mathematics whose research program is interdisciplinary in nature. Special consideration will be given to candidates who can collaborate with faculty from the natural sciences, computer science, data science/analytics, creative technologies, economics, and/or finance.

      The candidate is expected to establish a strong research program involving undergraduate students from a variety of majors. The successful candidate will demonstrate aptitude and enthusiasm for teaching in a residential college environment and contributing to the culture and development of an established Mathematics program that is building a strategic vision for its next steps. Beyond high-quality teaching and scholarship, the successful candidate should also be an active participant in the campus community and interested in mentoring a diverse array of students consistent with the college's commitment to a culture of belonging.

      Teaching responsibilities include core courses in the mathematics curriculum as well as electives in the candidate's area(s) of interest. The candidate will also be supported in applying for Project NExT or other professional development programs.


      Requirements:

      Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics or a closely related field. ABD candidates near completion (before August 2024) will be considered.
