      The Engineering Technology program within the Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley invites applications for one (1) Assistant Professor in Practice position to start in the fall 2024 semester.

      The ENGT program at UTRGV has an enrollment of approximately 60 students and is a part of the Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems which enrolls approximately 300 students.       Applicants for this position will be expected to teach courses in engineering technology and related engineering areas. The successful candidate is expected to play a collaborative role as a team member in initiatives with schools, community colleges, government agencies and industry to create an eco-system that will bring economic prosperity to the Rio Grande Valley. Our plan is to obtain separate accreditation of the BS in Engineering Technology from the Technology
      Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.

      UTRGV is a distributed campus with locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. The position will require teaching courses on the Brownsville campus with the possibility of occasional course offerings in Edinburg.
