What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer inbound and outbound calls efficiently, providing exceptional customer service to patients and providers
- Schedule patient appointments while prioritizing health concerns according to departmental urgency
- Verify and accurately capture patient demographics, insurance, and medical information
- Initiate service recovery as needed to enhance patient loyalty and satisfaction
- Document customer interactions and relay information to clinic staff through appropriate messaging systems
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of medical office experience or patient access center experience required; 2+ years preferred
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in a contact center or customer service environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with organizational abilities
- Ability to type 40-45 WPM and navigate multiple systems effectively
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- AS/BS degree in Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in healthcare or patient access
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans
- Proven ability to diffuse escalated patient situations and provide high-quality service
