What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Update patient caseloads, population estimates, and methodologies for budget forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of budget estimates for the Department of State Hospitals
- Communicate with departmental staff and external agencies, including the Department of Finance
- Develop and utilize complex Excel formulas for budget analysis
- Cross-train in alternative assignments within the Budget Management Branch

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, particularly in developing complex formulas
- Communication skills to interact with various levels of departmental staff and external agencies
- Ability to perform budget-related tasks with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel for site visits to treatment facilities throughout California

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Knowledge of SharePoint for reporting data
- Previous experience in budget analysis or financial forecasting within a government setting
- Familiarity with the operations of the Department of State Hospitals
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
