**What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Render opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath
- Defend assigned matters by trial or dispositive hearing as required
- Document files clearly and concisely for understanding by clients and colleagues

**What is Required (Qualifications):**
- 2-6+ years of litigation experience in insurance, defense, or personal injury
- Juris Doctor degree REQUIRED
- Admission to the Illinois Bar REQUIRED
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in Illinois and complete mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements
- Must be able to travel as required for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings

**How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense-related litigation experience
- Strong professional communication skills in person, via telephone, and in written correspondence
