- Develop and execute a cross-departmental marketing and business development plan in collaboration with Ancillary Services leadership to support revenue generation priorities;
- Set clear goals, metrics, and benchmarks to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of strategies;
- Provide regular analysis and reporting to Ancillary Services leadership, ensuring alignment with the University's overall strategic priorities;
- Collaborate with Ancillary Services Directors to identify and recommend programs and initiatives for sales growth and improved customer experience, providing input to AVP and senior leadership;
- Develop strategies for marketing, sales generation, and communication across all Ancillary departments while building strategic relationships to increase revenue opportunities;
- Coordinate department-specific marketing, digital, and communication strategies to drive growth in revenue and enhance brand recognition within Ancillary Services;
- Provide strategic guidance for business development, marketing campaigns, advertising, and sponsorships;
- Establish and monitor metrics and benchmarks to demonstrate effectiveness and efficiency of plans, responsiveness, and accuracy, with a focus on continuous improvement;
- Ensure consistent branding, marketing, and communication across all Ancillary units in alignment with Brock University standards and unit-specific goals;
- Lead the cross-departmental content generation strategy for Ancillary Services businesses across a wide range of channels and platforms;
- Act as key liaison between Ancillary Services and the central University Marketing and Communications team;
- Provide leadership, mentorship, coaching and motivation to staff to foster an inclusive, customer service focused culture;
- Manage annual marketing and communications budget plan based on Ancillary Services and individual Divisions’ needs, including monitoring expense targets, actuals, and variances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, journalism or related field;
- 5+years of related experience in communications and/or marketing, providing leadership, advise and expertise, preferably in the public sector.
- Strong strategic planning skills and a well-established reputation as a strategic thinker;
- In-depth knowledge of marketing and communication best practices, particularly in post-secondary education
- Track record of success in strategic marketing planning, campaign development, and implementation, as well as brand and change management;
- Advanced communication skills to champion change, gain support for new initiatives, and balance competing objectives when discussing sensitive topics;
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of building relationships, developing trust, mentoring staff, and creating a culture of sales;
- Adaptable and fosters personal agility in the face of organizational changes, championing initiatives to improve performance and meet business objectives;
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and development, with strong problem-solving skills;
- Exceptional project management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously, mentoring staff, and providing innovative solutions with a focus on the bigger picture
- Experience in Graphics Design;
- Experience in customer service;
- Master’s Business Administration or related field.
- Job Grade O, Salary Scale ($83,440- $143,040)*;
- This is a 14-montn, fixed term contract position and includes full comprehensive benefits.

Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Ancillary Services, the Associate Director, Marketing and Business Development, Ancillary Services, leads the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic marketing and business development plan to support the achievement of Ancillary revenue growth and customer service targets across all lines of business. As a member of the senior leadership team, the Associate Director is responsible for identifying strategic business opportunities and working with Divisional leaders to develop and implement long-term marketing and growth strategies. Continuously seeking ways to enhance student, staff and community engagement, the Associate Director is responsible for expanding networks and building relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders.
