- Deliver and utilize clinical, value, and outcomes evidence including observational research, comparative effectiveness, and pharmacoeconomic data to address customer needs.
- Synthesize, communicate, and translate complex information packages and/or data into transparent, relevant, objective and actionable insights for value-based decision makers.
- Collaborate with population health decision makers within an assigned geographic "healthcare ecosystem" to understand and address their information needs.
- Develop and execute the medical/HEOR strategy collaborating with internal and field-based medical and commercial partners to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Share expertise with customers as their trusted resource on topics related to disease state, Lilly and competitor products, health outcomes research, quality measures, healthcare policy, technology assessment, and real-world evidence.
- Apply knowledge of clinical, analytic, environmental, and account-level considerations to facilitate mutually beneficial research collaborations and value-based arrangements (VBAs).
- Frequently share customer insights, evidence gaps, environmental trends, and stakeholder evidence needs internally to influence evidence generation and other strategic efforts.
- Build proactive, medical/HEOR relationships that lead to innovative collaborations.
- Maintain deep market and customer knowledge in an increasingly complex and dynamic healthcare ecosystem.
- Stay abreast of emerging science, environmental trends, healthcare policy, and regulatory actions relevant to US value-based decision-makers.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers and internal partners on relevant disease states and therapeutic landscapes, HEOR and RWE, value-based care, the payer perspective, and value assessment in the US.
- Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, MS, MSN, MPH) in a scientific or health related field with relevant experience in health science or health outcomes or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or health related field with 5+ years of experience in health science or health outcomes.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.
- Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, US value-based decision makers, and their evidence needs.
- Ability to analyze and effectively communicate study findings on a range of clinical and HEOR topics including real-world data analysis and interpretation.
- Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to translate and present complex scientific information in a clear, concise manner.
- Experience working with or supporting value-based decision makers.
- Experience in data analytics and/or HEOR research/application.
- Experience and expertise in the treatment or management of relevant therapeutic areas.
- Demonstrated expertise in HEOR (including observational and pharmacoeconomic research) and value assessment which may include experience using real-world data, AMCP Dossiers, FDAMA 114, and pharmacoeconomic models.
- Significant experience and success in self-managing priorities and multi-tasking projects.
- Experience in field-based customer- facing roles in industry (e.g., medical, clinical development, government affairs, HEOR, managed care, sales).
- The position is field based in the Pacific Time Zone in the US with upwards of 50% required travel (car and plane) to handle assigned geography.
- Ability to use field-based electronic or other communication tools for all aspects of the job is critical.

The demand for high quality health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) to support drug development, health technology assessment/access decisions, product differentiation, and clinical decision making continues to increase. The purpose of the Lilly Value, Evidence, and Outcomes (VEO) team is to accelerate equitable patient access and transform healthcare delivery through the execution and communication of bold, high impact science. We are looking for talented, upbeat, creative, diverse, influential, and collaborative team members to join the VEO function and Team Lilly.
The Outcomes Liaison (OL) team embodies this purpose by serving as the medical and HEOR interface between Lilly and value-based decision makers including payers, health systems, research institutions, and policy makers in the United States. The OL role provides answers to customer questions with clinical evidence, HEOR, and RWE to support formulary access and pathways/guidelines decisions impacting millions of patients. The OL is acutely attuned to therapeutic evidence gaps, understands environmental trends, and anticipates stakeholder evidence needs. The OL also works cross-functionally to provide external insights to influence strategy- especially the VEO research agenda. The OL role is a key component of meeting customer needs and improving patient outcomes for Lilly.

The OL role is dynamic given the complex and ever-changing US healthcare system, continuous innovation in the medical and pharmaceutical industry, and advances in health information technology and real-world data. Primary responsibilities include customer engagement and evidentiary support while also enabling collaborations that improve patient outcomes, accelerate equitable patient access, and transform healthcare delivery. This entails serving as Lilly’s field medical and HEOR point of contact for value-based decision makers. Key activities in this role include the following:

Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $144,000 to $210,000 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
