Academic Affairs Administration | Kirwan InstituteThe Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race & Ethnicity seeks an associate research director with experience managing complex interdisciplinary research projects and research teams. This position will serve as a member of the Kirwan leadership team and will work closely with the Executive Director, Senior Legal Analyst and Operations Manager to provide long-term leadership of Kirwan’s entire research portfolio.
The Associate Research Director is responsible for generating an annual research strategy that attends to multiple aspects of Kirwan’s work: building research capacity; strengthening Kirwan’s support of and engagement with community partners at the local, state, and national levels; supervising and training research staff and student research assistants; and strengthening collaboration with OSU faculty across all parts of the university.
The Associate Director, Research will develop strategies, policies and procedures to provide state of the art training of research staff and student researchers; promote research integrity and ethics; engage in the recruitment of OSU faculty, industry and community partners to enhance research collaborations; and be responsible for data management protocols, technical report production, and research quality control.
Required Qualifications:
PhD or other terminal degree
7 years of experience writing successful grant and contract proposals
3 or more years of experience in academic unit or laboratory
Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience in a research institute
Fluency in Spanish
Additional Information:
The target hiring range for this job profile is $107,000 - $143,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
