Job Description
- Req#: 79073
- Work with Lead Engineers/Supervisors to check for compliance regarding full work package documents for Design Work Order Authorization process including environmental permits, easements, municipal permits, and other pertinent information.
- Maintain division compliances regarding safety equipment, gloves, measuring sticks, training, vehicles, etc..
- Provide economic evaluations and technical consultation with regard to electric service and operation of the electric distribution system to internal and external customers.
- Work with the Lead Supervisor, evaluate Division work plan to develop strategy to accomplish planned work with internal and external resources.
- Provide Distribution Design guidance to internal and external customers for LIPA owned and customer owned equipment.
- Work with the Lead Supervisor, evaluate Division work plan to develop strategy to accomplish planned work with internal and external resources.
- Participate in regular Safety/Information Meetings.
- Must posess a valid US Drivers License with a safe and satisfactory driving history.
- Must be available to work off hours to support storm restoration when needed.

Job Summary
The Associate Engineer for the Engineering and Resources group provides engineering & technical support for designing the electric distribution system. This includes customer generated projects (ie: new homes and commercial projects) that will require electric power from the LIPA electric distribution system. Also includes company generated capital and expense projects for reinforcing the electric system. This position may require direct interaction with customers, contractors and consulting engineers that will require office and field work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• A minimum of 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience

• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus
