Pitch, ideate, and develop original recipe content across platforms for Bon Appétit and Epicurious
Collaborate on and test recipes contributed by staff, chefs, video hosts, and outside recipe developers
Maintain calendar of recipes that will appear in coordinated releases on video and digital platforms
Contribute regularly to social video and YouTube video
Work closely with other Food Editors to cross-test and troubleshoot recipes
Brainstorm, research, collaborate, and help solve challenges with the rest of the food team, regardless of story assignment
Contribute additional content across all platforms for BA and Epicurious as assigned.
Work closely with social and video teams to create content
Work closely with editorial and audience development team on recipe-related community engagement
Additional responsibilities as assigned
At least 1 year of professional experience in culinary field, including restaurants
At least 1 year experience in food editorial
Excellent written and verbal skills
Interest in developing recipe content that can live across platforms, from print to digital to social to video
Experience creating social video, self-filming, and participating on camera

The Bon Appétit and Epicurious Test Kitchen is responsible for creating compelling original recipes that live across both brands and all of our platforms, including the websites, social channels, digital video, Epicurious app, and BA print magazine.
This Associate Food Editor position is responsible for generating all types of recipe content and working across all stages of the content production cycle from pitching to recipe development, cross-testing, and working with our video, social, and photo teams. This position requires an ability to translate culinary knowledge into actionable recipes geared towards home cooks—we’re looking for someone who is excited to engage with and create for our audiences. It also requires the ability to collaborate with both staff and contributing recipe developers and chefs, and help turn others’ culinary vision into accessible content.
All Test Kitchen members are expected to create and contribute to content for both brands across platforms, such as, but not limited to, recipes, articles, social and longform videos, podcasts, galleries, and events. This role will have a special focus on collaborating with our video and social teams to create recipe content connected to social and YouTube video. This position requires excellent on-camera presence, experience with self-filming, writing skills, solid technical food knowledge and culinary training, attention to detail, patience, and a collaborative spirit. Strong candidates are creative, passionate about food and cooking, highly communicative, organized, and great with deadlines. They should possess a strong editorial voice alongside their culinary skills.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $56,500 - $78,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.What happens next?
