      Work Location – New York, NY (Hybrid)

      What you will be doing:

      This highly creative individual will play a key role in supporting the business in the development of the industrial design through the aesthetics, ergonomics, and user experience of our Home & Outdoor leadership brands.

      • Own the industrial design development of new products through a user-centric approach and apply critical thinking to build a better user experience.
      • Collaborate and work closely with other designers, engineers, and product development managers to conceptualize and ultimately execute on the product vision.
      • Drive innovation by identifying relevant consumer, commercial and cultural insights and translate those insights into compelling design solutions.
      • Work efficiently in a fast paced work environment to manage and prioritize their time effectively.

      Skills needed to be successful in this role:

      • Demonstrate a strong understanding of aesthetics, design function, and human factors.
      • Ability to articulate subjective ideas in a significant and logical manner.
      • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with others.
      • Be able to think creatively while understanding the constraints of design. Applying thoughtful and critical thinking through the design process while being able to take constructive feedback.
      • Work independently with little supervision and having the ability to set clear goals while managing your optimally.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design.
      • 1+ years of relevant design experience in an industrial design role (internship or co-op experience included).
      • Demonstrated hands-on design and new product development experience in a professional product design environment.
      • Highly proficient in SolidWorks - Build sophisticated shapes and forms.
      • Ability to render in KeyShot with striking and dynamic photorealistic images.
      • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
      • Strong sketching skills or ability to communicate design intent effectively and efficiently.
      • Effective project management, teamwork and communication abilities.
      • Practical hands-on general workshop skills (hand-tools, power-tools, saws, drill-presses, grinders, etc.).
      • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Previous exposure to product manufacturing; plastics and injection molded part design.
      • Experience working in the consumer-goods realm.
      • Experience with conducting user research.

      In New York City, the standard base pay range for this role is $57,470 - $86,205 annually. This base pay range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
