      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Provide accurate and timely legal advice based on thorough research and analysis
      - Draft and review various contractual documents including research contracts and collaboration agreements
      - Negotiate contracts in compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies
      - Conduct training courses on contract workflow and negotiations for faculty and researchers
      - Maintain effective working relationships within the department and the larger UTMB community

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Jurisprudence degree from an accredited law school
      - Eligibility for admission to the State Bar of Texas, with admission required within 12 months of hire
      - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      - Ability to manage a high-volume workload efficiently
      - Knowledge of laws governing research, federal grants, and intellectual property

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field
      - One year of experience in contract negotiations, preferably with research contracts and collaboration agreements
