About the Role
Responsible for managing & leading the design process from concept to completion while partnering with manager & Director on print collections to ensure alignment on priorities and artwork direction. Increase sales profit by introducing best design process. Consistently shop and research marketplace, including competitors for inspirations and opportunities in product, fabric, wash, color. Research, identify, and present print trend direction and present to leadership team at milestone meetings. Actively participate in the conceptual development of seasonal print direction & family print story, as well as gather relevant inspiration outside of apparel that speaks to over-arching aesthetic trends. Ensure the print is consistent with market trends and business strategy. Ensure print is being designed within cost parameters. Create and present design boards for each season showcasing print direction. Work closely with design partner to ensure print point of view is in line with overarching seasonal direction. Responsible for design and creation of artwork - painting, digital etc., as well as cleaning of purchased artworks. Seasonal travel for research and/or product development required. Produce commercial yet fashion forward designs. Utilize a expert sense of color theory and texture. Utilize exceptional abilities as a highly skilled artist and illustrator. Constantly interact with the design and production team to ensure Prints are achievable at the highest quality within the cost needed. Must work from office 3 days per week. Work from Home is permissible for 2 days per week.
Salary Range: $128,898 - $133,898
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.What You'll Do
1. NED Graphics Programs - Easy Knit, Easy Weave, Color reduction PRO & Cleaning PRO, Design & repeat PRO, Easy coloring pro, Adobe photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign;
2. Knowledge of CAD systems/software/printers & spectra flow plotters;
3. Illustration, painting, drawing and digital art skills to be applied to fabric, knowledge of crafting repeats;
4. Creating artwork with multiple layers of halftones, with an understanding on how these prints translate from digital to physical, sublimation and rotary printing processes, andCMYK printing;
5. Technical knowledge of sweater construction: Yarn weights, stitches, and fibers and how they translate to print and pattern designs made with NED Easy Knit or illustrator; and
6. Excellent design and color sense, color matching and creation of colorways.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Fashion design, Textile design, Graphic design, Illustration design, or related field and two (2) years of experience in Fashion or Textile design or in the job offered or related role.
