- Participating in weekly and long-term editorial planning
- Monitoring the news, pitching ideas and guests, researching + interview prep, and fact checking
- Preparing hosts for tracking, producing interviews and other show segments
- Booking guests, and booking studio time
- Assembling the show elements, which includes pulling clips, editing audio and short video
- Writing show notes and social copy, making sure the social media team has everything necessary to support and promote the show and its segments
- Liaising with the sales team to ensure hosts have pertinent ad copy for each show
- QCing episode cuts and publishing the show to our platforms
- Communicating with hosts and other talent to schedule and facilitate segments
- At least 2+ year of news, editorial, radio, or podcast production
- Experience assisting in planning and execution of live events
- Demonstrated experience working under tight deadlines or with rapid response news
- Exceptional copy editing and research skills
- An ability to work outside of typical working hours, including weekly local Thursday evening shows and occasional pre-planned travel
- Understanding of journalism and journalistic ethics
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency with ProTools, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing software
- Proficiency in editing short video clips with basic video editing software
- A passion and day-to-day interest in comedy and entertainment/pop culture
- Experience managing the booking process for a weekly show
- Strong editorial judgment about the news that matters
- A self-motivated, proactive, creative, accountable, and nice attitude

Job Summary:
Crooked Media is looking for a talented associate show and segment producer for its entertainment and culture podcasts. While this is an entertainment and culture job, we’re always interested in the ways in which politics intersects with pop culture. So, the ideal candidate has a passion for helping people understand news and politics, as well as what’s happening in pop culture and entertainment, has strong editorial judgment, conducts thorough and organized research and works well under pressure. Please note, this is not an on mic or on camera position.
Crooked has adopted a hybrid work model for our entire staff. We believe that the best work is done in a hybrid capacity as it combines the flexibility of working from home with in-person collaboration. We are ideally looking for Los Angeles-based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate by March 31, 2024.

When we open up a position, we conduct a market analysis to ensure we have the most up-to-date data. Once we’re ready to extend an offer, we look at the individual’s years of relevant experience and other compensable factors to determine a competitive offer. And for this role, the starting salary range is $66,600 - 68,000.
