- Assisting in coordinating reinsurer due diligence
- Scheduling client/prospect meetings
- Researching market trends and publicly announced transactions
- Candidates need to have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a business-related position & environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a business-related field
- Interest in pursuing a career within Reinsurance
- Proactive, creative and analytical thinker that works well independently and within a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire and interest to pursue an opportunity that is involving client related tasks
- Ability to apply mathematical thinking in the business and insurance environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong time management skills and project management skills
- Detail oriented
- Highly motivated and committed to continually developing your professional skillset
- Candidates need not be familiar with reinsurance to be successful.

About Role
Howden Re is the global reinsurance broker and risk, capital, & strategic advisor focused on relentless innovation & superior analytics for top client service. Each Broking Team is responsible for producing and/or servicing an insurance company and/or agent. Team responsibilities include reinsurance broking, program marketing, data analysis, risk management, capital solutions, contract negotiation, administration, portfolio management and general reinsurance decision making. The team operates in a fast paced, always changing, project-oriented environment.
Howden Re’s dedicated legacy reinsurance team was formed in 2015 and are recognized as global leaders in the legacy reinsurance space. The team has technical expertise to tailor structured solutions to help clients optimize capital and mitigate volatility. We focus on “retroactive” solutions that address losses that have already occurred vs. future losses. These are one-off transactions that are usually seen as addressing strategic issues for our clients. These transactions are typically placed with one reinsurer, as compared to a traditional placement which renews on an annual basis and is placed with a panel of reinsurers
