      Job Description

      Ares is seeking an Associate to join our Enterprise Risk Management team. The Enterprise Risk Management team acts as a control function for risks impacting our operations, including Operational Risk and Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, and Third Party Risk. This position is responsible for collaborating with team members across the organization to develop and implement all components of a business continuity/ operational resilience framework, support in developing the Third Party Risk program, and help facilitate Risk Assessments.

      Reports to: Managing Director, Head of Enterprise Risk

      Primary functions and essential responsibilities

      Responsibilities:

      • Coordinate with team members across Enterprise Risk to create and maintain various databases and handle day to day tasks including coordinating with key contacts across various internal business groups

      • Assist in developing business continuity plans on multiple levels, including enterprise-wide, regionally across global offices and within individual business departments

      • Coordinate business continuity plan training and testing in conjunction with crisis team members

      • Interact with key stakeholders across the business to design, maintain and test incident response plans and playbooks

      • Conduct detailed reviews of events to remediation

      • Assist in conducting annual Business Impact Analysis “BIA” and perform data analysis

      • Stay informed on industry trends and developments to advance the business continuity and operational resilience programs

      • Produce dashboard reporting and presentations for business continuity and third-party risk

      • Assist senior team members with execution of third party risk program activities including due diligence reviews and ongoing monitoring

      qualifications

      Education:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field from an accredited university

      Experience and Skills Required:

      • 3 – 5 years of work experience

      • General industry knowledge and experience from a financial services or investment / wealth management organization

      • Prior experience in risk management or business continuity is a plus but not required

      • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

      • Proficiency with Salesforce and visual analytics tools such as Tableau and PowerBI is a plus but not required

      • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and competing demands, strong time management and prioritization skills

      • High accuracy and detail orientation; Dependable, highly motivated and a team player

      • Proactive in nature, proven ability to learn quickly; strong work ethic and high level of integrity.

      • An analytical mind and a passion/interest in bringing new ideas to increase efficiency of existing processes

      • Good judgment in terms of escalating issues vs. solving problems independently

      • Willingness to take on new projects and learn new skills

      • Comfort in dealing in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
