      Title: Duke Athletics Communications Assistantship

      Position Summary: The Duke Athletics Communications office is looking for qualified candidates for its assistantship during the 2024 spring semester. The successful candidate will join one of the top NCAA Division I athletics departments, assisting the athletics communications office in promoting the institution’s student-athletes and 27 varsity sports programs. This is a part-time (19.9 hours per week maximimum), benefits ineligible position.

      Essential Functions:

      • The successful candidate will be the primary communications contact for Wrestling
      • Provide support for other programs and events related to athletics, which may include writing, statistics capturing, research, editing of media guides/record books, transcribing quotes, and other duties as assigned
      • Gain direct work experience in the field of college athletics and college athletic communications
      • This position must be able to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree
      • Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills, alongside organizational and time management skills.

      Minimum Qualifications

      Education

      Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program.

      Experience

      No experience required beyond bachelor's degree. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
