      At the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, our primary goal is to protect the environment and public health. We do this by ensuring compliance with federal and state environmental laws.

      The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency wants you to be our newest attorney with our Legal Services team at our Central Office in Franklin County.

      Ah, there you are.

      As an attorney for the Ohio EPA, you will act as legal counsel and provide legal support for the Agency, and the Division of Environmental Response and Revitalization (DERR). You will review and assist in the development of complex environmental enforcement cases. You will develop legal strategies and prepare confidential reports, while also conducting research and drafting legal memoranda, contracts, and other documents.

      You will act as liaison between the legal office, divisions, district offices, and Attorney General’s Office (AGO). You will provide advice to Agency staff and management on all aspects of environmental law, and coordinate enforcement cases with AGO.

      You are going to participate in the development of statutes, rules, and policies for the Agency and legal office. You will advise supervisors on programs and policies developed within the Agency based on review and analysis of environmental law, contract law, real property law, administrative law, etc. You will also present testimony before legislative committees and assure compliance with procedural requirements relevant to rule-making activities.
