- Transport, assemble, operate, maintain, and perform minor repair on AV equipment.
- Assist in the production of audio and video multimedia projects for (but not limited to) exhibits, website, and social media content.
- Carry, set up, adjust, and operate video cameras, recording equipment, sound systems, speakers, projectors, projection screens, video monitors, and lighting equipment.
- Other related duties as required.
- Excellent technical knowledge of presentation, video recording, interactive kiosks, videoconferencing, and other AV hardware with a strong working knowledge of IT systems.
- Comprehensive hands-on AV equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of audio and video production and editing hardware/software including Adobe Premiere; knowledge of desktop presentation software - specifically MS PowerPoint and Apple Keynote.
- Strong customer service skills.
- The ability to project manage, prioritize, work with vendors, and execute tasks under deadline pressure is essential.
- A commitment to maintaining and expanding related skillsets is required.
- AVIXA CTS certificate desired.
- The hourly rate for this position is $21.98
- This position is full-time, non-exempt, and 35 hours per week
- This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit
- This position reports to the Audio-Visual Services Manager
- Physical requirements:
- Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus as well as occasional offsite locations
- Able to climb ladders and work on lifts up to 25 feet in height
- Able to move equipment up to 50 pounds up to 20 feet
- Able to position self to install equipment, including under furniture and in tight spaces
- COVID-19 vaccination required.

Audio-Visual (AV) technicians set up and operate a variety audio-visual systems and devices including but not limited to sound systems, projection systems, video and sound recording equipment, mixing boards, microphones, speakers, projectors, interactive devices, video monitors and lighting.
