      Primary Purpose

      This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all phases of concurrent team audits across financial, operational, and information technology domains, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, value-added audit and consulting services to internal customers across all Sempra business units.

      Duties and Responsibilities

      • Review results of all phases of the audit ensuring that conclusions, findings and recommendations are properly supported.
      • Review Audit Report and help communicate audit results effectively to Sempra senior management.
      • Stay current with Sempra business units’ and corporate departments’ operations and their respective risk profiles throughout the year.

      • Keeps abreast of company policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in local, state, and federal laws, as applicable.

      • Assist with assessing risks and recommending changes to improve operations or strengthen business controls, and negotiate solutions or corrective action.
      • Manage special audit projects as assigned, such as the annual SOX financial review for business while collaborating with external auditors.
      • Evaluate, counsel, mentor, and provide feedback on performance of direct reports and other junior staff members. Participate in training efforts.
      • Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

      Qualifications

      Education

      • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent is required.

      Experience

      • 10+ years of related experience or equivalent training and/or experience is required.
      • Prior internal audit and external audit experience is required.
      • 5+ years of relevant industry experience is preferred.

      Skills and Abilities

      • Knowledge of financial, operational, information technology, and management practices and auditing techniques is required.
      • Requires strong grasp of accounting and audit theories and principles.
      • Knowledge of company-wide financial systems such as SAP, Great Plains, and Hyperion Financial Management is preferred.
      • Strong understanding of information technology architecture, cyber risk, and computing systems like cloud computing is preferred.
      • Strong project management skills and proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization is preferred.
      • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
      • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
      • May be required to travel up to 40%.

      Licenses and Certifications

      • Active CPA license, preferred.

      Work Schedule

      HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 2-3 days per week.
