What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Supervise and manage claims examiners and clerical staff, including performance evaluations and attendance monitoring
- Review and address claims issues, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
- Approve reserve changes and payments within established authority limits
- Conduct file reviews to ensure adherence to laws and policies and coordinate staff training
- Prepare monthly client reports and facilitate audits as required
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in insurance claims management
- Strong technical knowledge of statutory regulations and medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid New York adjuster license as required by state regulation
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in managing claims related to New York Automobile claims
- Familiarity with the Arbitration Forum and American Arbitration Association
- Previous experience conducting in-house educational sessions or training
