General Summary:

Under general supervision, performsallprocesses necessarytodiagnose and complete mechanicalandcosmetic repairs on customer and internal CarMax vehicles following prescribedCarMaxpoliciesandprocedures.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provideandmaintain exceptionalcustomer service through customer contactbefore,during,and afterrepairs as defined by CarMax Voice of Customer processes.
• Locate, useand control replacement partsandsupply inventories
• Use andcontroltoolsand equipment
• Performmechanicalandcosmetic repairs, includingbut notlimited to the diagnosis of all internal and external vehicle systems.
• FollowCarMax standardized work rules

• Inspect vehicles per CarMaxQuality Standardswhen needed.
• Complete state inspectionswhenrequired.
• Maintainworkplace cleanliness and organizationinaccordance withCarMax 5Sstandards

Review repair orders for work performedandaccuracyof all labor,parts and sublet documentationfor billingincluding opening and closingofrepair orders

• Collect service payments and manage payments receivedforservices.
• Use ofproprietaryanduniversal software systems including CarMax Electronic Repair OrderandMitchell.
• Provide functional expertise and leadership to other associates.
• Providegeneral supportto otherassociatesandmanagersin thestore, including,but not limited to vehicleassessment,vehicleprepping,vehiclereceivingandtransferring.

Job Specifications:

Work requires ability to:

• Complete New Associate Orientation Training Operations.
• Complete Kronos TrainingforHourly Associates.
• Maintain acurrent Refrigerant Recycling License.
• Where required by State/Local law, maintain current ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4) and Brakes (A5).
• Read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records.
• Perform multiple duties inahigh-energy, fast-paced environment.
• Lift objects that weigh as much as 50lbs.
• Speak and listen effectively in dealing with customers/associatesin personand overthephone.
• Demonstrateaboveaverage attention to detail.
• Manual dexterity in both arms and hands
• Monitor shop compliance with CarMax, O.S.H.A.,andEPA policies
• Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
• Demonstrate exceptional telephone etiquette and active listening skills

Working Conditions:

• Combination of office, shop and outdoor environment. May include working at times in noisy and/or inclement weather conditions.
• Mayrequire walking or standingforan extended periodof time.
• Flexibleworkhours withshiftsthat mayinclude nights, weekends, andholidays.
• Wears CarMaxclothing(acquired through company)at all timesworkingin the store.
• Follow all CarMax, O.S.H.A., and EPA standards including the use of Personal Protective Equipment, and proper waste disposalinrequired areas.
• Adhere to all CarMax policies including Attendance, Asset Protection, Integrity and Professional Appearance policies.
