      Job Description Summary

      As an AVP, you’ll lead a major function of the Treasurer's office that may include enterprise cash and liquidity management, treasury consulting, enterprise banking and credit services, and our capital markets and structure finance group. We’ll count on you to lead a team and provide strategic advisory support to our business units and corporate departments around treasury, liquidity, and capital financing.

      Job Description

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Manages strategic relationships with corporate b anking partners and provides business units with relationship reporting and access that helps drive business results. This includes but is not limited to maintaining adequate credit facilities and other internal or external sources, enforcing credit, debt and support agreement compliance, maintaining transaction authority documentation, negotiating with banking partners regarding fees and services, and enacting and monitoring appropriate services .

      • N egotiates contracts for various enterprise companies in matters related to banking and credit and manages several other treasury functions.

      • Oversees the liquidity management process to assure that adequate sources of funds are available to meet ongoing and extraordinary cash needs of Nationwide.

      • Monitors, interprets, and directs the administration of policies and practices to control funds moving through the enterprise receipts, disbursements, concentration, and investment functions.

      • Directs, monitors , and administers the ongoing cash management operations of the treasury corporate center. Oversees cash flow forecasting activities and the issuance, tracking, and redemption of the Life Company commercial paper program.

      • Provides guidance and consultation regarding proposed policies and practices affecting cash flow and internal control procedures for enterprise operations.

      • Understands the operations of internal business units and offers solutions and best practices for treasury services, banking, credit, cash management and associated operations, emphasizing efficiency and cost savings.

      • Recommends and markets appropriate treasury , cash management and related services to business unit executive management and leads business unit implementations f services .

      • Develops compelling business cases that produce favorable project prioritization and funding and direct Treasury resources to manage those projects.

      • Provides signatory and approval authority for contracts, disbursements and other various transactions for enterprise companies, serving as treasury representative to the Business Recovery task force for all Nationwide companies, managing disaster recovery site, ensuring Treasury's SOX compliance, managing custody banking relationship, carrying out special projects such as mergers and acquisitions, bank mergers, system integration and specific finance initiatives, and administering and developing corporate policies and statutory deposits requirements.

      • Functions as an Assistant Treasurer with signatory authority. May be the dedicated Assistant Treasurer for various internal entities.

      • Oversees associate management including performance management, salary planning and administration, training and development, workflow and organizational planning, hiring and placement, and disciplinary actions. Responsible for department budget and controls; may also serve as Office of Treasury budget coordinator.

      May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

      Reporting Relationships: Reports to VP, Assistant Treasurer ; manages a team of three or more direct reports as assigned based on functional alignment.

      Typical Skills and Experiences:

      Education: Undergraduate degree in finance, business administration or related field. Graduate degree preferred.

      License/Certification/Designation: Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) required ; Certified Cash Manager (CCM) preferred.

      Experience: Typically, ten or more years of related treasury or financ e experience including at least five years in a management or leadership role.

      Knowledge, Abilities and Skills :

      Proven ability to analyze financial results and trends. Demonstrated a bility to direct the management and training of associates in credit and bank services, cash management and treasury compliance. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on organizational sensitivity.

      Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

      Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resource Business Partner.

      Nationwide pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement within the actual starting salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. If a Sales job, Sales Incentives, based on performance goals are possible in addition to this range.

      The national salary range for AVP, Assistant Treasurer : $140,000.00-$277,000.00

      The expected starting salary range for AVP, Assistant Treasurer : $147,000.00 - $247,000.00
