- Post-secondary Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience in advertising, marketing, public relations, corporate communications or media relations in a large organization OR
- Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience in advertising, marketing, public relations, corporate communications or media relations in a large organization OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum one-year experience managing projects and/or project components.
- Understand and commit to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
- Work outside of standard business hours (including statutory holidays and weekends)
- Work on-call and extended hours during emergency activations, including operational deployments across the province.
The Team
The Strategic Communications Services division provides a variety of specialized communications support services to all ministries as required including writing and editorial services, marketing and advertising services, graphic design services, and social media and digital services.
The Role
The Marketing Officer plays a key role in creating and coordinating impactful marketing campaigns and materials that align with government standards and policies. Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Advertising, this role involves collaborating across teams to develop strategic plans, manage media buying, and produce high-quality communication materials. This position also leads search engine marketing initiatives and contribute to administrative operations within the marketing and advertising unit.

About this Position:
This position will be based in one of the GCPE offices in Victoria and Vancouver.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
This position is excluded from union membership.
