      Apply your sound judgement and analytical skills in a key leadership role

      Within the Communications, Learning and Engagement (CLE) division of the BC Public Service Agency, the Corporate Communications and Branding (CCB) branch leads and coordinates corporate communications and employee engagement, including strategic communications, writing and editorial services, graphic design, web and online communications and multimedia production.

      The Supervisor, Content Strategist provides leadership to enhance service delivery on the web through the creation, delivery and governance of accessible and clear content. This position oversees a team of writers focusing on plain language and accessible content focused on HR information and services for BC Public Service employees. The team makes sure Careers & MyHR content is accessible, written in plain language and designed for best user experience.

      Job Requirements:

      • Degree in English, Communications, Library Science, User Experience Design, Computer Science or a related field OR
      • Diploma in English, Communications, Library Science, User Experience Design, Computer Science or a related field plus two (2) year of related experience; OR
      • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
      • Experience supervising staff
      • Experience with content strategy work, including accessibility best practices and plain language writing
      • 1 year of experience with writing and editing in a professional capacity
      • 1 year of experience practicing user experience design and content development
      • 1 year of experience preparing and delivering effective presentations
      • Experience with CMS Lite or other content management systems (for example, WordPress, Drupal)


      Preference may be given to applicants with 1 or more of the following:

      • Experience using Customer Relationship Management system (CRM)
      • Experience communicating complex issues clearly and adapt writing style for audience
      • Experience with web properties and information architecture
      • Experience with service design
      • Experience with analytics gathering and reporting
      • Candidate with more than the required amount of experience above

      About this Position:
      Currently there is 1 temporary opportunity available until June 30, 2024.
      This position can be based in any Public Service Agency office. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
