- Duties will include the preparation and regeneration of patient meals at ward level on a daily basis
- Providing an effective, patient-focused cleaning and domestic service, to meet NHS cleanliness standards as a minimumwithin designated patient / non-patient areas within the Trust.
- The postholder will also be responsible for the provisionof appropriate portering services including transportation of linen cages, waste bins / carts in and around hospital environments and patient moves (reception to department or department to department)
- Essential criteria Experience of working in a restaurant environment.
- Planning and organisation of daily / weekly work tasks/activities.
- Awareness of safe working practices Understand how to prevent the spread of infections.
- Good personal hygiene practices
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to manage own workload
- Demonstrate good customer service skills
- Experience of using cleaning materials and equipment
- Experience with COSHH and HACCP
- Knowledge of IPC process within a Catering Hospital Service
- Previous experience of working in the hospital/health care environment
- Desirable criteria Experience of using industrial equipment/ machinery
- Experience of serving food and beverages on a tray service
- Working within tight portion controls
- Essential criteria General education to GCSE level or equivalent including English & English
- Able to understand verbal and written instruction
- Basic Food Hygiene Level 2
- Desirable criteria NVQ level 2 equivalent experience or willingness to work towards NVQ accreditation in customer services.

As a Facilities Assistant you will provide an effective, patient-focused Facilities Service (FM) in the delivery of cleaning, portering and catering.
