- As a member of the multidisciplinary team the post holder will contribute to the delivery of patients' individual care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse.
- The Band 3 Nursing Assistant demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant procedures, guidelines and policies. She/he will undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
- Assist with the induction, supervision and training and development of new starters under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- There is the opportunity to develop within the role and undertake further training and development.
- To act as a role model for student nurses and colleagues.
- To assist the trained Nurse in delivery of direct patient Care, maintaining patients' dignity and well-being in safe environment
- Maintain Patient privacy and confidentiality
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs; blood pressure, pulse, temperature, blood glucose, pregnancy test and routine urine test

Job summary
Part time 19 hours per week, Fixed term 12 months Maternity cover vacancy has arisen for Band 3 Nursing Assistant within the Outpatient Departments at Outpatients department Edgware community /Finchley memorial Hospitals.The outpatient department demands the highest standards of nursing care and professionalism. It is important to remember that patients may judge the quality of care received in the outpatients department as representative of the rest of the hospital, and this may influence their decision regarding further treatment.The applicant is required to provide assistance and support in the outpatient clinic working both as part of a team . There is a requirement to rotate through all the clinic types and the 2 hospitals. Training will be provided as appropriate. Current hours of service are Monday to Friday 08.00 to 18.00 x3 ,08:00-17:30x 1 DO X 1Applicants are advised to read the Job Description and Person Specification as shortlisting will be completed against the criteria outlined in those documents.
