      The Strategic Services Division oversees, manages, and supports the ministry's complex large-scale, cross-ministry transformation initiatives as well as supports ministry executive and staff in setting, tracking, and communicating the course of the ministry’s strategic direction.

      The division was created to deliver on and support the priorities outlined in the ministry's Strategic Framework to advance ministry transformation, and to provide ministry project planning, change management, strategic planning, reporting, communications, and engagement coordination services.

      Working with a team of project managers and subject matter experts, the Senior Project Manager manages the successful development, implementation and evaluation of major projects, or business components of large multi-faceted projects and or a portfolio of projects with multiple key deliverables. Projects are taken from original concept through to final completion and evaluation. The Senior Project Manager also provides their expertise to continually improving the Project Management practice within MCFD’s PMO, defining consistent processes, tools, and templates that support successful project management within MCFD’s unique culture and environment.

      Job Requirements:

      • Degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field (related field includes public sector, social sector, project management, management, and leadership);
        • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
      • Three (3) or more years of experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
      • Three (3) or more years of experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and or leading consultation sessions.
      • One (1) or more years of experience in directing the work for other project managers, professional employees, and/or consultants.

      About this Position:
      Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
      This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Child and Family Development offices: Burnaby, Campbell River, Creston, Fort Nelson, Fort St John, Hope, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Port Moody, Prince George, Surrey, Vancouver, Vernon, Victoria, Williams Lake.
      An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
      Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
      This position is excluded from union membership.
