      Main duties of the job

      . Royal Free NHS Foundation trust is currently recruiting a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner in our community-based at change to Barnet renal satellite unit

      We are looking for an experienced Assistant Practitioner/ associate Nurse with substantial experience in Haemodialysis to work in our change to Barnet renal satellite unit.

      As an Assistant Practitioner you will work as part of the team and be accountable for the delivery of patient care under the leadership of the registered nurse. Duties will include assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care under the supervision of the registered nurse.

      You will be proficient and have experience of initiating and terminating dialysis plus experience of cannulating AV Fistulas. Experience in training haemodialysis patients to perform self-care is an advantage.

      Your responsibilities will also include preparing equipment for treatment, ensure that equipment is kept clean and supplies are well-stocked, safely stored and used efficiently; keeping documentation up-to-date, provide safe quality care for patients ensuring it delivers the best clinical outcomes and patient experience and act as an effective role model and mentor promoting excellence through practice.

      You must be educated to foundation degree in Health and Social Care or equivalent and have recent experience of working with patients in the Haemodialysis area.
