      We are seeking for a band 6 charge nurse to join our team on Sahara B. Sahara B is a 30 bedded regional neurosurgical ward for Essex, providing care to patients with brain & spinal conditions. You will work & be a part of our large multi disciplinary team. We are looking for an individual to help support our nursing team in the delivery of high quality nursing care, if you are reliable, organised and a good team player then we want to hear from you.

      Main duties of the job

      o To support the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse in effectively leading and managing the wardo Participate in all ward activities as an effective team member, supporting the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse taking responsibility for the leadership of a team of staffo To assess care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary teamo To teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff, and act as a role model to junior staff, undertaking performance management when requiredo To act as a role model to junior colleagueso To take responsibility and accountability for a group of patients and the ward for the duration of the shifto To provide holistic nursing care to patients within the ward, utilising all resources to provide excellence in practiceo To develop personally and professionally as an effective member of the multidisciplinary team and take part in appraisal yearlyo To provide teaching and mentorship to junior colleagueso To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environmento Reports any potential / actual problems to line manager and/or Matron when appropriateo Act as a link nurse when required

      These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week and are providing an extra 88,000 scans a year.

      The majority of our 8,000 staff - who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian and minority ethnic groups.
