      Job summary

Are you able to motivate and support service users in the early stages of their admission into secure services?

The post holder will work within the establishment of the ward supporting service user's admission and during their progression on the ward. The role will include coming up with innovative ways to engage service users with complex needs. There will be the opportunity to assess service users prior to admission, in external settings.

Your input will set them up for their journey through secure care; giving them the opportunity and a stepping stone to progress into less restrictive environments.

The service prides itself on striving to support the recovery of working age males detained under both criminal and civil sections of the Mental Health Act. The service users we care for experience severe and enduring mental health problems, acute mental illness and often present with behaviours that are challenging.

As a senior member of the service, you will represent your profession and act as a role model in a manner that positively reflects the trauma informed care philosophy of the secure service and the wider values of the organization. You will be engaged in meeting the service and trust strategies to promote recovery, address inequalities such as employment, education and physical health.

  • About the company

National Health Service (NHS) is the umbrella term for the publicly-funded healthcare systems of the United Kingdom (UK). The founding principles were that services should be comprehensive, universal and free at the point of delivery—a health service based on clinical need, not ability to pay. Each service provides a comprehensive range of health services, free at the point of use for people ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom apart from dental treatment and optical care.
