- Entry-level qualification in applied psychological therapy/mental health/social welfare profession or equivalent and demonstrable practice in this field (i.e. professional Doctorate, or combination of MSc plus PG Diploma level/supervised practice/additional training) that has been accepted for the purposes of professional registration.
- Registered with professional body or regulatory body as appropriate to psychological therapy discipline i.e. HCPC/UKCP/BACP/BABCP
- Post-doctoral training in one or more highly specialist areas of psychological practice.
- Post-graduate qualification in leadership/management
- Considerable experience of working as a registered Practitioner psychologist, or equivalent psychological applied practice, including post qualification experience in the designated function with which this post is concerned.
- Experience of the professional management of registered and pre-registered clinical/counselling, psychological therapists and psychologists, Psychology Assistants, graduate and undergraduate students and other grades of staff within a psychological service.
- Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of the field of Clinical/counselling/health/forensic psychology, or equivalent psychological applied practice, consistent with doctoral level professional training and further post qualification study, training and supervised experience as a registered psychological therapist.
- Highly developed and advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies in specific 'difficult to treat' groups (e.g. personality disorder, challenging behaviour, dual diagnoses, people with additional disabilities etc).

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Band 8c 0.8wte Consultant Psychological Professional to support the education and training for our Psychological Professions workforce across the Trust and wider system across the portfolio of the Chief Psychological Professions Officer for the Trust. Could this be you?
Main duties of the job
This is a new and exciting leadership position within our organisation that will build on the committed work that is already in place across our services. Broadly speaking, your portfolio will have three key workstreams:
1. We have a long history of being the lead employers for Trainee Clinical Psychologists registered on the University of Birmingham Doctorate in Clinical Psychology training programme. This team would be part of your portfolio.
2. We have a wide range of "grow your own" and "recruit to train" workforce transformation programmes across the Trust which would also be part of your portfolio, working alongside our Divisional Leads for Psychological Professions to champion opportunities supporting the diverse representation and expansion of our workforce.
3. And finally, to support our retention and progression, we have a range of education and training offers meeting clinical professional development needs, which requires additional leadership. This work stream would also be part of your portfolio.
