What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Verify insurance benefits, eligibility, and pre-determination requirements for scheduled patients
- Confirm that the correct insurance package is loaded into the patient’s chart and update records as necessary
- Review provider schedules to obtain referrals and authorizations for procedures and testing
- Track and monitor authorizations and referrals to ensure compliance with payer requirements
- Contact patients in advance of procedures to inform them of estimated financial responsibilities

What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years of experience in insurance verification, patient access, medical billing, or healthcare financial services required
- Strong understanding of insurance verification processes and medical benefit plans
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and patient scheduling systems
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality requirements

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Associate Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field preferred
- Experience working with insurance payer portals
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail in documentation and verification processes
