What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and provide accurate information to patients regarding insurance billing
- Read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents
- Ensure patient billing information is accurate and up to date
- Research authorization benefits with insurance companies and online resources
- Validate and process refund requests from patients

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred
- At least one year of ophthalmology billing experience is required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with EHR and EPM systems, specifically NextGen, is strongly preferred
- Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is highly preferred
- Knowledge of insurance practices and healthcare experience is strongly preferred
- Prior customer service or call center experience is preferred
- Well-organized with attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Personable and empathetic towards patient needs and concerns
