Motivate is looking for field-based Bike Mechanics to complete inspection, maintenance, and repair for the bikeshare system in New York. Bike mechanics focus on maintaining our bike fleet, with an emphasis on meeting the highest standards for productivity, quality, and safety. Training in technical and unique aspects of bike share bikes will be provided.

About the Role

• Complete field-based bicycle repairs, maintenance, and inspections throughout the network of bikeshare stations
• Navigate through busy, urban environments on a bicycle to complete a daily route
• Keep detailed, accurate records of repairs using a smartphone
• Stock, organize, and use various repair tools, supplies, and other equipment
• Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and repair methods
• Follow all safety regulations and protocols, promptly reporting safety concerns to management

About You

• You are mechanically inclined and are knowledgeable in completing repairs, prior experience working with professional bicycles or similar mechanical repairs preferred
• You have a strong commitment to safe work practices
• You are willing to work primarily outdoors traveling on a bike throughout our network of stations, as well as indoors at bike repair depots as needed
• You are dependable and willing and able to work off hours and/or weekends as needed
• You can lift to 75 pounds, stoop, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
