Job Description

- Enter and process data related to patient care and reimbursement.
- Review HCPC, modifiers, and ICD-10 codes for accuracy while keeping up with compliance and coverage criteria to update employees as needed.
- Check that all patient documents are on file and completed correctly prior to billing.
- Review all insurance payors in order to ensure correct fee schedules are attached to claims.
- Develop knowledge of insurance payers and the use of electronic systems.
- Ensure timely filing of claim submissions.
- Review and resolve clearinghouse rejections promptly.
- Scrub and submit clean claims to prevent denials.
- Submit corrected claims if rejected.
- Review and bill secondary and tertiary payor claims.
- Ensure month-end billing deadlines are met.
- Meets work standards by following productivity, quality, and customer service standards established by the company.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities as needed and requested.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Identify and create improvements to processes to promote efficiency and productivity.
- Reviewing and Submitting Patient Statements
- Taking incoming patient phone calls regarding Patient Statements on designated days
- Perform other job duties and special projects assigned.
- Experience with HCPC, ICD-10 medical terminology, accounts receivable, insurance collections or billing helpful.
- Familiarity of Medicare and Medicaid preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of Orthotics, Prosthetics, and DME billing preferred.

Understanding of medical Insurance payor requirements.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately and pay attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Software- Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, frequently changing environment.
- Ability to interact with clinical and non-clinical personnel, patients, and care givers in a professional and respectful manner.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Must be able to work PST 8AM-5PM schedule 2x a week
- Must be located in U.S.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- 1 to 2 years of office experience, preferably within Billing/AR, claims or insurance payor requirements. Understanding of CPT/HCPCS and ICD 10 coding, RBRVS, and insurance reimbursement rates preferred.

We are looking for an experienced Billing Representative to join our remote team! The Billing Representative will enter claims and support the billing process. This role will perform specialized clerical and administrative technical work pertaining to the authorization and billing of clients.
