      The BMO People of Color Accelerator Program (BPAP) is a US-based internship program that brings together a cohort of talented rising sophomore and junior college students who self-identify as People of Color (POC) . BPAP seeks candidates that are interested in embarking on a career in Business and Finance.

      BPAP Interns individually report to a Sponsor who acts as a mentor, coach , and manager that will provides a highly engaging and interactive learning experience. BPAP Interns will work on a real time project s , attend informative lunch and learns, and prepare a final presentation . The Internship should enable these early professionals to build genuine relationships and gain meaningful work experience.

      Facilitates decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions and processes for the bank. Maintains and promotes a client service environment to satisfy and exceed customer needs and expectations. This role will make credit decisions and recommendations in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and in compliance with Bank Policies & Procedures.

      • Provides accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers.
      • Partners with internal stakeholders for accurate, detailed client information.
      • Develops credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans.
      • Assists in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients.
      • Prepares summary, present facts and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness.
      • Minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions.
      • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
      • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
      • Completes complex & diverse tasks within given rules/limits.
      • Analyzes issues and determines next steps; escalates as required.
      • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

        Qualifications:

      • Typically between 1 – 2 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience; however as part of the BMO campus program, we are looking for motivated individuals with a strong desire to learn
      • Basic specialized knowledge.
      • Verbal & written communication skills - Good.
      • Organization skills - Good.
      • Collaboration & team skills - Good.
      • Analytical and problem solving skills - Good.

      Compensation and Benefits:

      $41,715.00 - $52,607.50

      The base salary represents BMO Financial Group’s hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.

      Base salary is one component of BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package for employees, which may include performance-based incentives, commissions or discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
