      Summary: Responsible for the operational direction, administration and coordination of all activities of the maintenance engineering department for the casino and hotel. Supervises assigned staff and works with interdepartmental personnel to ensure the building, life support systems, and utility services are functioning in a safe and efficient fashion.

      Essential Functions:

      • Provides support and leadership direction to individuals directly reporting to this position in accordance with the organization chart of the company.
      • Coordinates and ensures accurate preparation and distribution of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual preventive maintenance, job production, and expense reports.
      • Maintains excellent working relations with Clark County, City of Las Vegas and other agencies as applicable.
      • Ensures all employees within areas of responsibility receive fair and equitable treatment with regard to their respective terms and conditions of employment.
      • Reacts to guest needs, and department requests to maintain the entire facility by performing various task related to a variety of trades.
      • Maintains all inspection and log sheets to ensure proper preventive maintenance of operation of physical structure of the resort.
      • Visually inspects, diagnoses problems, takes measurements, and makes necessary repairs on equipment and facility as instructed by supervisor.
      • Ensures guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean, safe facility while performing maintenance work.
      • Properly cares for equipment and uses it properly to assist with cost control.
      • Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies.
      • Communicates all pertinent information to the Engineering Manager and Supervisors.
      • Upholds all safety standards.
      • Interacts with all guests and fellow Associates in a positive and friendly manner.

      Qualifications/Requirements:

      • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
      • 4-5 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Must have basic mechanical skills in plumbing, electrical and general repairs. Be able to understand the proper use of tools in order to perform these tasks
      • Excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills
      • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex of documents, such as technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
      • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
      • Must be 21 years of age
      • Prefer: EPA Certification, Certified Pool Operator, and/or Journeyman Electrical

      Physical Requirements

      • Walk, stand, sit, climb or stoop up to 75% of time.
      • Lift, push, pull, carry or otherwise move items weighing up to 100 pounds up to 75% of time
      • Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail.
      • Able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
      • Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity 75% of the time.
      • Vision, hearing, speaking and literacy (critical).
      • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
      • Working indoors or outdoors in a noisy, smoky, dusty environment that is either hot or cold.
      • Able to communicate vocally and hear voice and other audible commands.
      • Ascend or descend ladders, scaffolding and ramps.
      • Occasionally drive motor vehicles.
