      The Headlines:

      In the role of Brewery Security Lead (BSL) for the Shenandoah Brewery, in Elkton, VA you will be the Corporate Security representative for the site. You are responsible for security guidance, training, and leadership at the local site and neighboring company locations. On occasion you will also support security functions at other company locations or events.

      This position reports to the Senior Manager Security Operations & Investigations, with dotted line reporting to local site leaders.

      The Responsibilities:

      • Drive security standards and policy compliance, identifying gaps and implementing procedural and culture changes to mitigate the gaps.
      • Manage the access control & camera systems locally, the key control system, and the security reporting for the site. Provide troubleshooting and minor repair of systems.
      • Lead security investigations locally, and partner with local and corporate partners on non-security investigations.
      • Manage site compliance with CTPAT & chemical security standards. Perform security audits & an annual security assessment.
      • Organize & facilitate security training, partner with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) team on emergency response planning & training.
      • Build & maintain relationships with local responders, physical security industry organizations, local and national level intelligence organizations.
      • Security representation for site leadership meetings to provide guidance and recommendations on site (including on-call emergency response), local, regional, and national security concerns.

      The Other Qualifications:

      • You have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (4+ years) in criminal justice or security.
      • You have 5+ years of leadership in a physical security or related field, prior law enforcement experience is preferred.
      • You hold a CPR/AED certification or can obtain it within 6 months of hire.
      • You have a working knowledge of patrol techniques, report writing, and investigation techniques; experience in security systems such as access control and CCTV is preferred.
      • You have experience managing outside vendor relationships.
      • You are a skilled communicator able to de-escalate situations, deal with conflict appropriately and articulate security needs effectively.
      • You are decisive, disciplined, detail-oriented, organized, and budget-conscious.
      • You love a challenge. You complete complex projects quickly and adeptly with your understanding of the business priorities.
      • You build relationships and collaborate to get to the desired outcome.
      • You take accountability for results – acting with integrity and honoring commitments.
      • You have a thirst for learning – you are always looking for ways to learn and help one another grow.
