      BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES
      Responsible for analyzing financial data, creating budgets, monitoring expenses, and providing strategic recommendations to senior management.

      TYPICAL DUTIES
      Leads the development and maintenance of comprehensive budgets including operating budget, capital expenditures budget, and revenue projections. Collaborates with department heads and senior management to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

      Analyzes financial data, trends, and performance metrics against budget targets to identify areas of opportunity and potential risks. Utilizes various financial modeling techniques to forecast future financial performance.

      Prepares quarterly rolling forecast to predict future financial performance based on historical data, trends, and business insights.

      Maintains budgeting software database; loads monthly financial data into software database, updates forecast assumptions and market rate indexes.

      Communicates with software vendor to report problems and solicit support on difficult software issues.

      Monitors and analyzes expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Identifies cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for optimizing resource allocation.

      Prepares regular financial reports, variance analysis, and performance metrics for senior management and other stakeholders. Communicates complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to facilitate decision-making.

      Continuously reviews and enhances budgeting processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy. Implements best practices and leverage technology solutions to streamline workflows and enhance data integrity.

      Assists in the development and creation of cost accounting methodologies and procedures for the credit union environment.

      Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and reporting standards. Stays informed regarding changes in regulations and assess their potential impact on budgeting and financial operations.

      Prepares various month-end statistical reports.

      Works with internal and external auditors and examiners during periodic audits. Provides any documentation and explanations required.

      Maintain and understand compliance to ensure that work complies with GECU’s established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations, to include Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Member Identification Program (MIP), and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC).

      Other duties as may be assigned or required in connection with the general operation of the credit union.

      Requirements

      CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
      Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with five (5) years similar or related experience.

      Detailed knowledge of principles and procedures of accounting.

      Detailed knowledge of corporate budget principles and concepts.

      Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

      Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP systems.

      Proficient knowledge of spreadsheet and accounting applications.

      Must be able to make decisions within policy as well as exercise considerable discretion and judgment outside of written policy.

      Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain precision and accuracy.

      Requires sitting the majority of the day, lifting up to 20 pounds, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling and reaching above and below shoulder level occasionally.

      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
      Providing quality service is the primary responsibility of this position. Quality service means treating members and coworkers with respect and courtesy at all levels whether in person or by telephone as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

      Availability Requirements: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:30 pm;

      Saturday as needed
