What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assist in the preparation and development of the agency's operating budget and Legislative Appropriations Request (LAR)
- Oversee planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating budgetary activities and performance measures
- Prepare and review operating budget reports, analyzing expenditure patterns and making recommendations
- Communicate effectively with external and internal parties regarding budgetary variances and issues
- Prepare and review fiscal notes on legislation impacting the agency's finances

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Three years of full-time experience in budget preparation, accounting, auditing, financial planning, or related fields
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications
- Knowledge of public sector budgetary controls and related state and federal regulations
- Ability to analyze facts, devise solutions, and write concisely
- Experience in preparing state agency operating budgets and legislative appropriations requests

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field
- Demonstrated knowledge of the agency's financial programs, policies, and procedures
- Experience and skill in analyzing budgetary and performance issues
- Proficiency in data gathering and analysis
- Ability to contribute to cross-training and resource sharing within the Finance Department
