- Experience in Building trades for maintenance activities.
- Experience of working within a broad range of occupational guidelines
- Has received appropriate formal training and developed a knowledge of all types of building maintenance systems
- Ability to undertake unsupervised building maintenance tasks such as: - Cleaning of air vents - Ceiling tile replacement/repairs - Minor plastering duties - Minor brick works - Applying various wall coatings - Undertake small repairs to roofs, floors and external paving
- Recognised NVQ in building related craft subjects or equivalent
- Relevant experience in a similar industry

Job summary
Building Maintenance perform general repairs and provide preventive maintenance to the building fabric, systems and equipment. The maintenance department is focused on helping Guy's and St Thomas' Trust to fulfil its organisational values and strategies.

Main duties of the job
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to work as part of a team and to work independently, without supervision.
- Must have a commitment to providing the highest quality of service.

- Ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate effective personal time management.
- Effective communication with the team managers and team members.
-This role requires the Building Maintenance Technician to be on site -from 8:00 hours to 16:00 hours working on the continental shift rota.
- This role requires the Building Maintenance Technician to be flexible as working beyond the rostered days on may be required.
-Ability to undertake unsupervised specialist building maintenance tasks such as:
- Cleaning of air vents
- Ceiling tile replacement/repairs
- Minor plastering duties
- Minor brick works
- Applying various wall coatings
