Department Overview:
The Bursar's Office within the Division of Business Services works to provide student account information, cashiering and student loan services to the UW-Madison community. These services include but are not limited to: billing and collecting student account and student loan payments, posting scholarships to students’ accounts, assisting parents and students with the payment process, processing refunds, billing and receipt processing for Federal Perkins and institutional loans, processing deferments and cancellations of loans, preparing and maintaining campus-based promissory notes, performing entrance and exit interviews for campus-based student loans, and helping and communicating with parents and students regarding any questions they may have. Flexible scheduling around classes and other activities. All work is performed during regular business hours, M-F, 7:45AM-4:45PM. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

• Previous customer service experience preferred
• High level of comfort interacting with a variety of customers
• Demonstrate teamwork, integrity and accountability

• Strong organizational skillsPosition Summary/Job Duties:
1) Provide customer service in the Bursar's Office. Receive student account payments and institutional loan payments, collect fees. Answer general questions related to student accounts. Provide general information about billing, account balances, refund checks, and financial aid. Provide assistance and information to students regarding MyUW.
2) Answer telephone calls and emails. Answer general questions related to student accounts and loan accounts. Maintain excellent customer service while assisting customers.
3) Perform data entry. Enter private scholarship information. Enter various loan account information into web applications and loan systems.
4) Perform miscellaneous clerical tasks as directed by Financial Specialists, Director of Student Accounts & Collections or the Director of Student Accounting and Operations.Physical Demands:
