- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration or closely related field.
- Experience working with TAMU budgeting, research and contract project administration, business policies, and disbursements guidelines.
- Experience working with Excel, FAMIS/Canopy, AggieBuy, Concur, and Workday.
- Primary manager for full range of fiscal activities.
- Serving as lead accounting manager for unit.
- Preparing unit reports to include monthly/yearly account summaries, income statement, monthly payroll allocations, and Time & Effort.
- Processing payroll-related costing allocations for all employees in the Workday system as necessary due to effort reporting.
- Resolves operational and procedural financial problems.
- Direct interaction with unit leadership staff regarding accounts and associated programs and research projects.
- Serving as project administrator liaison to Sponsored Research Services (SRS) and TEES.
- Reconciling and reporting research project/contract account balances.
- Tracking project expenditures and preparing management reports for unit Director, Principal Investigators, and college leadership.
- Prepares unit's annual budget for submission to college.
- Works directly with unit leadership and unit principal investigators to formulate research proposal budgets for submission to SRS and TEES.
- Monitors and controls unit expenditures within established budget guidelines and makes projections and recommendations to achieve budget goals.
- Performs analysis of resource allocations and operating fund requirements and makes recommendations to unit director.
- Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures for the unit.
- Monitors compliance with policies and procedures and recommends corrective actions to unit director.
- Interprets and applies System Policies and Regulations and University Rules as they pertain to financial transactions and research administration.

The Business Administrator III is responsible for: providing business management and leadership for academic departments, including reviewing and approving business documents for the unit head and developing, monitoring and reporting accounts and unit budget and other quantitative data.
