      Applications are invited from motivated and innovative candidates to fill the position of Business Analyst in the Business Analysis Services Department. Business Analysts deliver significant business & systems analysis, process & knowledge management while maintaining high levels of customer service through internal consulting functions.

      Your responsibilities:

      • Analyzes problems and makes recommendations for improvements via business process or system changes. Performs risk, impact, and data analysis before making recommendations.
      • Supports senior BAs in the development, documentation, maintenance and distribution of business and systems initiatives.
      • Assists in the development of business requirements.
      • Provides consistent service by being a point of contact for service requests or business systems problems. Must be able to perform initial investigation (or resolution) and escalate issues where necessary.
      • Plans and implements technical changes and work requests.
      • Creates data and process models that document business and system functions.
      • Participates in planning, coordination, and execution of business acceptance testing.
      • Designs and creates operational reports for supervisory staff and management.
      • Ensures data integrity within core business systems.
      • Maintains a working knowledge of current WCB policy, procedures, and business strategy.

      Your experience and skills:

      • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a discipline related to Information Systems such as Business (MIS) or Computing Science is preferred.
      • One to two years’ experience in a complex business environment. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
      • High-level understanding of organizational change management.
      • Basic understanding of project management concepts and techniques.
      • Technical aptitude: An understanding of modern programming languages, system architectures, data warehousing, relational databases, and reporting and development tools.
      • Basic understanding of system and business analysis, modeling tools, methodologies and process/workflow mapping.
      • Exceptional customer service, analytical and problem-solving skills.
      • Strong conceptual and analytical skills, business acumen and a strong attention to detail.
      • Acts independently and manages his/her own work with an ability to perform well within a team, along with a demonstrated drive to deliver to a high standard.
      • Strong ability to communicate, facilitate, resolve issues and lead.

      Salary: $56,223 to $66,101 per annum
