  Disability Claims Specialist
  12+Month Contract
  Remote Position
  Part-time role with 10-20 hours per week
  Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate long-term disability insurance claims following plan provisions and service standards.
  • Exercise independent judgment and critical thinking skills in claim assessment.
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving abilities and think outside the box.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through verbal and written communication.
  • Manage a caseload of moderately complex claims and meet key performance indicators.
  • Communicate with claimants, customers, attorneys, and others involved in the claims process.
  • Compile and analyze detailed documentation for claims evaluation.
  • Collaborate with external and internal resources to gather necessary data.
  • Calculate monthly benefits accurately, including various adjustments.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a timely and thorough manner.
  Requirements:
  • 3+ years of prior LTD/IDI Insurance Claims experience.
  • Strong skills in independent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex situations and make logical decisions.
