      Job Summary

      This role will participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and support of innovative technology solutions in close collaboration with business stakeholders. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for problem and solution analysis, developing functional/technical requirements, documenting technical specifications, designing integrated process and system flow mapping, developing quality assurance test and training plans, performing technical issue and resolution tracking, providing support of integrated release management, facilitating transition to operations, and analysis of future technology solutions; all in accordance with recognized best practices (BABOK, PMBOK, etc)

      Duties and Responsibilities

      This position will perform the following functions:

      • Collaborate with project sponsors, business users, subject matter experts to:
        • Elicit requirements and translate business needs into detailed documented functional and technical designs and specifications
        • Develop current (as-is) and future (to-be) business process flows and perform gap analysis
        • Define data migration and reporting requirements
        • Develop and execute quality assurance plans including testing the solutions to ensure it meets the business needs as defined
        • Design and document system processes
      • Serve as a critical liaison between the Information Technology division and other business groups to ensure the successful delivery, implementation, and operation of high-quality technology solutions and business applications
      • Assist with development of business cases, research and evaluate potential options, propose alternatives to business clients and to senior management, benchmark, identify synergies with existing IT solutions, and provide financial estimates for possible technology solutions
      • Investigate and resolve business technology issues, determine best solutions, research options, advise on changes to business processes, analyse data and provide reports
      • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support for incidents that require more specific knowledge of technical/functional issues and IT systems and/or deeper knowledge of business processes and policies
      • Provide support and knowledge transfer to IT teams (e.g. preparing training materials, knowledge base articles, transition to operations documentation)
      • Lead discussions, and deliver presentations, reports, research and recommendations to a diverse group consisting of executives, managers, IT teams, business clients, and external business partners
      • Assist clients in the identification of business needs and alignment to strategic plans and IT Road Maps.
      • Provide analytical support for the development of future directional strategy and multi-year strategic plans
      • Provide support for the development of the team’s annual IT Work Plan.
      • Perform other duties as assigned

      Skills and Qualifications

      • Required experience of 3 to 5 years of as an IT Business Analyst working in a complex corporate technology environment with demonstrated experience in requirements facilitation, process mapping and reengineering, documenting requirements and technical specifications, and development/execution of quality assurance and system test plans
      • Post-secondary education with a degree/diploma in computer science, information technology or related discipline is required
      • Strong preference for any certifications related to Business Analysis such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Professional Business Analyst (PBA), Certified Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
      • Sound understanding of software development principles, databases, IT architecture, network infrastructure, and end-client hardware devices
      • Strong analytical, negotiation, research, critical thinking, and problem solving skills
      • Demonstrated project management and team leadership experience
      • Knowledge of current and emerging technologies with ability to evaluate integration of new technologies into a complex IT environment
      • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbal and written
      • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

      Hourly Rate/Salary: $86,858 - $115,812
