What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct research and fact-checking across a wide range of legal and business topics
- Analyze research inquiries to determine the best resources and methods for each request
- Compile and communicate research findings clearly and concisely
- Assist in training attorneys and staff on effective use of legal and business research tools
- Participate in the review and evaluation of electronic resources for improved service efficiency
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in library science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience conducting research in a legal setting, preferably in a law firm environment
- Proficiency in research tools such as Westlaw, Lexis, and Bloomberg Law
- Strong research skills with the ability to think critically and efficiently
- Willingness to work outside of normal business hours and on weekends as needed
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Master's Degree or JD
- Specialized knowledge in specific legal practice areas (e.g., IP, Finance, Tax)
- Experience with request management systems and current awareness platforms
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with attorneys and clients
