      Position Summary:

      HIG’s Business Development (BD) team spearheads the firm’s effort in interfacing with M&A market participants (investment bankers, attorneys, other advisors and investors) in the pursuit of new investment opportunities for the firm’s private equity and debt funds. The Pre-MBA Business Development Analyst will support HIG’s business development efforts by leading the operational and analytical tasks needed to drive efficiencies, capture critical data, develop thoughtful report, and facilitate internal and external communications related to deal activity.

      The Analyst role is focused on building and maintaining the fundamentals of a successful Private Equity sourcing professional, working closely with senior BD and deal team professionals to drive the front end of the investment process. The Analyst supports all stages of the business development process, including deal pipeline and CRM management, KPI tracking, and execution of HIG’s business development strategy.

      The candidate must be able to work independently, have very strong attention to detail and exceptional work ethic. This position reports directly to the Head of Business Development and will involve interaction with other senior business development and investment team professionals.

      This role will be located in our Miami office

      Responsibilities:

      · Manage and efficiently track the progression of prospective investment opportunities, contacts, and other data points utilizing Salesforce CRM

      · Conduct in depth analysis and reporting based on applicable deal flow data and reporting metrics

      · Support business development team members by listening in on calls with investment banks and other industry professionals, taking detailed notes and uploading to Salesforce CRM

      · Take lead on development of internal presentations, create training materials, policies and procedures to help drive efficiencies and support various functions of the organization

      · Display strong proficiency of complex functions in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

      · Work with the business development and deal teams to track important deadlines and assist with coordinating communication to the relevant deal sources

      · Gather and provide the broader HIG team with market research from public data sources such as CapIQ and MergerMarket, etc.

      · NDA management: review, redline, negotiate, and prepare non-disclosure agreements for execution (no prior experience necessary)

      · Develop and present monthly and quarterly KPI and sourcing activity reports using Excel and PowerPoint

      · Maintain Salesforce data integrity and hygiene, updating contacts and accounts as necessary

      · Develop, improve, and update firm marketing materials in a timely manner (one pagers, presentations, website, LinkedIn, etc.)

      · Manage and organize content stored on the internal business development shared drive, keeping key information up-to-date and easily accessible for the team

      · Monitor the performance and reliability of third-party vendors and tools, comparing them against industry standards and proactively recommending updates or changes

      Desired Skills & Experience:

      · Minimum of 1-2 years work experience (relevant internship experience will be considered), in a financial services organization (preferably a background or knowledge of private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, investor relations, investment management, or relevant sales/business development operations experience, etc.)

      · Demonstrated top academic performance

      · Exceptionally proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

      · Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and very strong attention to detail

      · Strong aptitude for working under pressure, seamlessly managing time constraints and leveraging analytical skills to generate creative and resourceful solutions

      · Task oriented and comfortable with repetition

      · Salesforce or similar CRM experience

      · Available and responsive beyond traditional work hours on an as needed basis
