We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Executive to join our Community Engagement team. In this role, you will identify and develop new and existing partnerships within the business community to raise funds and generate income, supporting the vital work of the hospice.

      Main duties of the job

      • Identify and build relationships with local businesses and corporate partners.
      • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to secure financial support, sponsorships, and in-kind donations.
      • Manage and nurture long-term partnerships, ensuring continued engagement and growth.
      • Work closely with the team to integrate corporate support into our broader fundraising strategy.

      About St. Michaels Hospice

      St. Michaels Hospice (North Hampshire) is a registered charity and provides support to people diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. It is a Hospice for adults providing invaluable palliative and end-of-life care services in North Hampshire, offering comfort, support, and dignity to those facing life's most challenging moments.

      As a charity, we depend on the kindness and support of our local community to continue offering our services free of charge. It may come as a surprise, but only 16% of our funding comes from the government. End-of-life care is an essential service, not a luxury, yet it is not funded like other care services. To keep the Hospices services running, we need raise an additional £15,000 every day.

      Create and manage a pipeline looking at different opportunities for corporate supporters and implementing excellent supporter journeys.

      Identify and approach potential corporate partners to establish long-term relationships.

      Secure Corporate and Community sponsorship for Hospice-led events.

      Work collaboratively with wider members of the Income Generation Directorate to maximise opportunities e.g. Voluntary services, Retail, Individual Giving and Marcomms

      Secure Gift in Kind support.

      Cultivate strong relationships with local companies, business networks, and community stakeholders.

      Represent the hospice at business networking events, corporate meetings, and fundraising activities.

      Support businesses in planning their own fundraising activities on behalf of the hospice.

      Marketing & Communications

      Reporting & Performance Tracking

      Set and monitor fundraising targets, providing regular reports on performance and impact.

      To ensure the Fundraising CRM is updated to a high standard of accuracy and all corporate fundraising activity is recorded.

      To agree annual donation budgets with the Head of Fundraising and Community Engagement Lead and produce financial and operational reports as appropriate.

      This role requires a great deal of flexibility, the post holder must be able to work to the needs of the Fundraising Department including evenings and weekends.
